Recent updates show that there are currently no red-listed countries which means travel is now less restricted. Each country will have its individual rules, which you can check before you travel.
Returning to the UK
You no longer have to complete a UK passenger locator form before you travel back to the UK and you do not need to take a COVID-19 test or quarantine upon your return to the UK. These rules apply whether you are vaccinated or not.

Here is some of the latest advice on our top asked about countries.
France
If you are fully vaccinated travellers aged 12 and above must provide proof of vaccination and a sworn statement to certify that you do not have COVID-19 and haven’t been in contact with any confirmed cases for at least 14 days.
If you are not fully vaccinated you will need to provide a completed International travel certificate to prove the reason for your essential travel, a negative PCR test result within 72 hours or an antigen test, taken within 48 hours of pre-departure if aged 12 and over, and a sworn statement to certify that you do not have COVID-19 and haven’t been in contact with any confirmed cased for at least 14 days.

Spain
All travellers to Spain including children under 12 years old need to fill in an online health control form and upon arrival in Spain, you will need to show the QR code confirmation at ports and airlines. Depending on your reason for travelling to Spain you may be required to provide different documentation, but in this article, we will only be covering tourism.
If you are fully vaccinated, you must show valid proof of vaccinations that have been received at least 14 days before you travel.
If you are not fully vaccinated you can show a medical certificate of recovery from COVID-19 within the last 6 months. There may be different requirements for children under 12 or those up to the age of 17. You can also provide proof of a negative COVID-19 NAAT test within 72 hours of travel or a rapid antigen test 24 hours before travel.
Once you arrive in Spain you may be required to provide additional information or test, this could include temperature checks, visual health assessment NAAT tests at any point in the first 48 hours of arrival.
Portugal
There are no restrictions on reasons for travel to Portugal from the UK, as long as you haven’t been to a restricted country within the specified travel time range.
All travellers to the mainland of Portugal and the Azores will need to fill in a passenger locator form before they arrive.
If you are fully vaccinated you can enter Portugal’s mainland without a COVID-19 test, you must provide proof of your vaccination status when you check-in for your flight to mainland Portugal. If you are fully vaccinated and your airline does not acquire proof before travel you will be denied entry unless you are a legal resident. If you are a legal resident you will be required to take a rapid lateral flow test at the airport and face a €300 fine.
If you are not fully vaccinated you will be required to show a negative PCR test within 72 hours of travel, or a rapid lateral flow test within 24 hours. If your airline allows you to travel without a valid negative test, you will be denied entry.
If you have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 12 months, you can provide a recovery certificate showing you have recovered from COVID-19 no less than 11 days or more than 180 days before you travel and you will not need to take a test.
Italy
All adults travelling to Italy will need to fill in a passenger locator form to enter the country.
If you are fully vaccinated you will need to provide proof and then you can enter without the need to isolate. You must show your primary vaccination certificate or proof of recovery. At least 14 days must have passed since you received your last dose.
If you are not fully vaccinated or exempt or you cannot demonstrate you are vaccinated then you will need to give evidence of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before entering the country or a rapid lateral flow within 48 hours of arrival. You can also provide a COVID-19 recovery certificate showing recovery in the last 6 months.
If you can’t provide any of the above then you will need to travel to your final destination via private transport, isolate for 5 days and take a test on day 5. If the day 5 test is negative then you are able to leave self-isolation.
Greece
The rules in Greece are slightly more relaxed and specify that all travellers age 5 years or older need to provide one of the following, a valid vaccination certificate at least 14 days old, a COVID-19 recovery certificate, proof of a negative PCR test 72 hours before arrival or a rapid antigen test from an authorised laboratory within 24 hours of arrival.
You may be asked upon arrival to carry out another rapid COVID-19 test. If you test positive you will need to isolate for 5 days at home or in a specific quarantine hotel provided by the Greece state. Travellers who leave quarantine are required to wear a surgical mask in all public inside and outside spaces for at least 5 days after the end of their quarantine.
