Choosing a mobile home in France
We had spent more than a year toying with the idea of having our own holiday home in France and having read about the areas of France that appealed to us and checked the property prices – we continued to dream – until a friend told us about Caravans in the Sun and we realised that we could turn our dream into reality.
We spent most of the following weekend going through the Caravans in the Sun website – concentrating on France and trying to 
focus on what was right for us. The website offers a choice of new mobile homes and pre-owned mobile homes and a choice of 12 parks in France from Calais in the north to the blue waters of the Mediterranean and the Cote d’Azur. All the prices are for sited homes – so with no hidden extras we were in a position to decide on our budget, priorities and location.
Most of the parks are open 12 months of the year and the detailed information for each park not only lists the park facilities and those of the surrounding area – also included are the costs of utilities and the annual ground rent, if pets are welcome and also if subletting is permitted. We decided we would prefer our holiday home to be near the coast, in the South of France, on a park open 12 months of the year and not too far from the airport (though we are driving there this summer – and taking the dog!). We were also fortunate enough to choose a park where subletting is permitted – which in turn helps us towards our running costs.
Having chosen our park – after much thought we decided to purchase a pre-owned mobile home – we were tempted to have a new home – especially as we could have chosen our own plot, used the credit facility with Caravans in the Sun to purchase it and also we could have gone to the factory in England to see them being made. When we flew out to view our chosen holiday home we loved the home, the park we had chosen and the area – the local customer service team for Caravans in the Sun were so helpful and didn’t put us under any pressure at all. When we got back home we decided to stop dreaming and purchased our chosen holiday home straight away and within weeks we were living our dream to the full – thanks to Caravans in the Sun.
